Roll up, roll up! The Sydney Royal Easter Show begins on the 5th of April, a much-anticipated carnival for kiddies both little and big. Apart from showbags (eek), the Sydney Royal Easter Show aims to highlight Australian agricultural achievement and innovation. Of course, there’s live entertainment and rides too – and today Belle Property highlights the best Easter Show activities on offer for kids and parents.
The Showtime Spectacular is the number one event of the Easter Show. Hosted by James Blundell, the Spectacular is an entertaining melange of Australiana including a pyrotechnical ‘Colours of the Outback’ display, a competitive rodeo show, quadbike riding and a Stockman’s Ride.
If you’re wanting a little home improvement along with your showtime experience, look to the Great Aussie Backyard feature. Apart from hints, tips and a trade show on display there’s also the NSW TAFE Landscaping Challenge competition to garner inspiration from.
Woodchop! Old school but unmissable (and always fascinating for kids) come and see the best woodchoppers from around the globe show off their chopping skills in a range of categories.
The Coca-Cola Carnival features rides like ‘The Extreme’ which will set pulses racing – make sure you don’t eat too many dagwood dogs before hopping on this one, funsters! For teenagers and adults who like the occasional fright, you’ll enjoy the Hollywood Horrors ride which has 15 ‘scare’ actors to jump out at you plus animatronics. Yikes!
Showbags! It’s enough to get the pulse racing of any kiddie full of Easter eggs. On offer are the usual array of lolly and sweet-based bags in addition to the popular ABC Kids Bag and the Australian Diamonds Netball Australia Bag.
In 2012 there will be a designated Food and Wine Garden featuring the best produce from across NSW.
